The High Museum

My recent trip to the High Museum was not my first. In fact, it was probably my 20th. I love the museum, and I go all the time. I love seeing all of the new exciting temporary exhibits as well as my known favorites. Every time I go I'm able to go right back to my favorite works of art that I have grown to love. My absolute favorite at the High is in the modern and contemporary art exhibit. It is very hard to pick a favorite but The Avoider by Michael Borremans grabs my attention every visit. Its size and simplicity are the most powerful things about it. When walking by, you have to look at it and notice the man in the portrait. Its plain background and great use of colors just forces you to look at it. The modern and contemporary art exhibit is definitely my favorite in the whole museum and I always spend most of my time there. I could spend hours in there studying every piece over and over. I can't wait to go back to see it all again.
