Las Meninas

The reading of Foucault's analysis of Las Meninas was a perfect way to apply the past readings to an assignment that we will do in the next couple of weeks. Foucault did an excellent job of analyzing and describing the visual composition of the piece. Because the image of the actual work of art was not until the end of the piece, I did not know at all what it looked like. I did have a very accurate idea of the content and composition thanks to Foucault's description. The explanation of the context and the people in the painting also helped to have a complete idea of the painting and what everything means. It is a beautiful work of art accompanied with a wonderful description and analysis.
